Help us to shape the future of pyrogenicity testing of biologics

The UK National Centre for the 3Rs (NC3Rs), with funding from the Gates Foundation, and in partnership with a steering committee of biologics manufacturers, regulators and scientists from national control laboratories is working to accelerate the adoption of the latest non-animal testing methods by the global biologics community for quality control and batch release testing. Our current focus is pyrogenicity testing and the landscape with respect to use of the monocyte activation test (MAT).

Are you involved in manufacturing or testing biologics, or developing and marketing MAT kits or services? Help shape the future of non-animal pyrogen testing by completing our survey.
We want to hear about your experience with the MAT – how you use and validate it, the cell types involved, and any barriers you face that make this challenging.

Your insights will help us better understand current practices to inform our work to support the wider integration of 3Rs approaches in biologics quality control testing and drive wider adoption of non-animal approaches.

The survey will launch soon, should take no more than 30 minutes to complete and can be downloaded from the NC3Rs website where you can also learn more about this project, its impacts, and how you can engage with it.

If you would like more information about the survey or the NC3Rs biologics project, please email Elliot: elliot.lilley@nc3rs.org.uk
